Chineham Parish Council allocated some funds to create a community orchard just off the mini roundabout at the junction of Thornhill Way and Reading Road behind the Village Hall field. This was achieved with the kind co-operation of Hampshire Highways upon whose land the orchard stands.

A variety of 13 dwarf apple trees were planted in November 2018. With a selection of early, mid and late fruiting varieties, the plan is that there will be apples available for the community to enjoy throughout the season.
