There were no declarations of interest.

 

3.

Minutes of Previous Meeting

 

 

The Minutes of the meeting held on 2 December 2009 were signed as a correct record of the meeting.

 

4.

Allotments

 

 

Two members of the public were present for this item.

Councillors Adams and Tomblin gave an update on the present situation, stating that the Allotment Rules document and the lease between the Chineham Parish Council and the Borough are currently with our solicitors.  Public Liability insurance is being progressed.   Clerk to update the Recreation Committee on the current situation.

There will be no work carried out on the allotment site until all legalities have been resolved.  Councillor Tomblin updated the members of the public on the situation regarding the size and number of plots and also the proposed allocation process.

A meeting with Richard Wareham from the Borough has been scheduled for Monday 25 January at the Chineham Village Hall – this has been postponed several times due to the bad weather.  

Bullet points for the allocation letter to be sent to Assistant Clerk for circulation to the Recreation Committee for their consideration.   A draft letter will be prepared for discussion at the February meeting.

5.

Tree and Bulb Planting

 

 

Councillor Wright has photographs of the wild flower bank at Viables.  These will be discussed at the February meeting.

A bulb planting strategy will be put in place for this year.   This will be discussed fully at the March meeting but communication to be made with contacts prior to this meeting.

Other local Parish Councils to be asked for information on their bulb planting plans.

Les Wigley from the Borough to be asked when mowing will commence and how the areas around bulbs (not to be cut) will be marked out.

6.

Provision of Exercise/Fitness Stations

 

 

Members of the public were present for part of this item and felt that the provision of fitness stations was a very good idea and would be seen as an important community/social feature.

 

The location plan from the Borough was discussed.   Enquiries to be made regarding the fitness trail recently shown on local television, with regard to initial and maintenance costs.

 

Information to be gleaned from residents in Farm View Drive as to where they feel the fitness equipment should best be placed.

 

This item will be discussed again at the meeting with the Borough on 25 January.
