3.

Minutes of Previous Meeting

 

 

The Minutes of the meeting held on 7 October 2009 were agreed as a correct record of the meeting.

 

4.

Allotments

 

4.1.

Rules

Changes have been made to the document “Rules for Letting Allotment Gardens at Hanmore Road” in accordance with Paul Neary’s recommendations (as discussed at the Recreation Committee meeting held on 7 October 2009).   This current copy to be sent to solicitors for assessment.

4.2.

Allocation

Discussion took place regarding the proposed meeting for allocating the allotments.   This subject to be on the Agenda at the meeting with the Borough on 16 November 2009 where confirmation will be sought on site details and also a committed date for opening.

5.

Report from Green Working Party

 

5.1.

Tree O’Clock – 5 December 2009

The Recreation Committee recommends that we do not participate in this world record event due to the stringent rules and regulations.   However, it is possible that trees can still be planted in Tollhouse Copse and this will be discussed at the Council meeting on 9 November 2009.

5.2.

Bulb / Tree Planting

The Parish Council has been advised that the Chineham Conservation Group will be planting bulbs in Chineham on 7 November 2009.   The Committee would like to invite a representative from the Chineham Conservation Group to a future Recreation Meeting to discuss possible joint efforts.

6.

Report from PG Working Party

 

 

It was agreed that the PG Working Party will consider alternatives to progressing the original Recreation Strategy in view of the possible restrictions set by SINC.

At this stage of the meeting, discussion took place regarding the value of separate working party groups.   It was proposed by Councillor Miller and seconded by Councillor Tomblin that these groups will meet as part of the Recreation Committee from January 2010 onwards.
