Chineham Chat At the last meeting of the Chineham Parish Council it was agreed that they would endorse the releasing of £90,000 for section 106 funds to replace and enhance the ball court facilities at Four Lanes Junior School. They also endorsed the releasing of £120,000 to spend upgrading the Skate Park. This decision will now be put forward to the Cabinet of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for their consideration. As always both projects will be subject to consultation prior to any work commencing. With regard to the Allotments at the time of writing we can confirm that the legal issues such as the lease of the land are being finalised between the Chineham Parish Council and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. We envisage that once this has been agreed we will be able to contact those on the waiting list for the next stage of their application and work will commence. Next year’s meetings are as follows: 8th March 2010 12th April 2010 11th May 2010 14th June 2010 12th July 2010 13th September 2010 11th October 2010 9th November 2010 13th December 2010 The Parish Council has purchased 5 additional litter bins. These should be installed within the next month. Our Annual Parish Assembly is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 18th May at the Community rooms of the Chineham village Hall. The Parish Council Chairman, Cllr. Chris Tomblin, will provide a report on the Councils projects over the last year and the Finance Chairman, Cllr. Les Fryer, will present the Parish Council's current financial situation. We are also pleased that a Representative from RAF Odiham will be giving a presentation with a Question and answer session afterwards. All members of the Public are welcome. The Parish has requested from Hampshire County Council that the salt bins be replenished but at present it would appear that there is no salt available. We have decided to wait until it is available rather than having grit placed in the bin which has no melting properties. However, we would like to remind residents that this salt is for use on the roads and pavements not for the residents to use on their own property. The Parish Council is here to help the Residents of Chineham so if there is a Chineham issue you are concerned about please feel free to contact the Clerk, Karen Ross, on 01256 474500 or email clerk@chineham.gov.uk or Eunice Jones, on 01256 324345 or email assistantclerk@chineham.gov.uk during office hours only please.
