Parish Council has received its first feedback from the movable Speed Limit reminder sign which has recorded that the speed limits on the main roads in Chineham are certainly being exceeded regularly. Hanmore road limit being the most often broken (all along its length) with Bowman road second, however Thornhill way is not far behind. This suggests that through traffic could be the main culprit but local residents are also ignoring the limits. Please keep an eye on your speedometer as we don't want to see an outbreak of slow down measures put in place. The Parish Council has agreed to continue with the rental of this sign for another year form Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

At the November meeting,  the Parish Council discussed the precept for the next financial year and it was agreed that the precept would remain the same this year with no rise in residential contribution.

The Parish Council has obtained a grant of £2,900 towards the repair of Tollhouse Meadow path, this grant combined with the £3,000 agreed from Parish council funds means the repairs can now go ahead, it is anticipated that the work will be carried out prior to February 2010.

The dates for Parish Council meetings next year are as follows:

11th January 2010
8th February 2010
8th March 2010
12th April 2010
10th May 2010

12th July 2010
13th September 2010
11th October 2010
8th November 2010
13th December 2010

These will be held in the Community Rooms of the Village Hall starting at 7.45pm with the public session being held as near to 8pm as possible.
